Baudrillard: The Perfect Crime

The only suspense left is that of knowing how far the world can de-realize itself before succumbing to its reality deficit, or how far it can hyper-realize before succumbing to its reality surplus (that is, when the world, having become more real than real, will fall under the blow of total simulation

Rationalism attempts to break the illusion, to make a spectacle no longer a spectacle, no longer something that strips away a dimension to inaugurate the power of its illusion.

Time, at the speed of light - that of information - attempts to install us in an absolute present. Is the power of illusion swept away by the technological inspection of the world (qua. Heidegger). Behind its hardware there is the full-on vertiginous double theatre of interiority, the exorbitant Jekyll and Hyde character that makes the world a play of appearances, with the promise of transforming it but at the same time hiding the perfect crime, the final cruelty of rationalism, without victim, perpetrator, motive, nor crime scene.
