The logical preposition 'A is A', the principle of identity, embodies precepts about under what environmental conditions that principle is executed. On the one hand it might be as a mnemonic denoting the failure to complete a routine ('file not found', black screen of death). On the other hand there is a grammar of material difference inherent in those physical components that make up the circuitry performing the computation, and which is scalar, that is, 'A' can appear to be more or less than 'A', and so violating the prepositional principle on the material level, but still effecting it on the abstracted level. This workshop will be designed to articulate a strategy of 'dirty conjunction' in a hands on session to expose the abstracted force of logic on some of its material substrates.
