**The Writing of Stones**

1) //outline//

Geological walking

a) Foraging/foraged mineral/flora discrete prompts to reveal a logic of the human imagination (Valery) as imprinted minerals display their surface image and indicate underlying process of production = window/mirror illusions wired to bio/geological control.

b) Human-thing looping (affect affect inscriptions) trajectories

drawings, automatic writing, imaging - constrained correspondences, temporal montaging

transmission: radio, showing and passing on, wifi

chunks swapped between participants (no waste dump)

scheduled breakouts/calls on selections to be publicly broadcast (noise, readings, images)

2) //equipment//

wifi sniffers, computer, radio receiver/transmitters, pen, pencil, paper, photography/video

calls made at various locations - noise = dedicated PA, scheduled use of PA, (collated) image printouts

2) //how//

daemon process with scheduled calls (noise, readings, images) throughout day

follow mineral/flora/fauna trails throughout the day

swap transmissions eg. wifi

transmissions to PA's; image posting

3) //preparation//

sniff/map wifi

4) //why//

{{:exquisite_code:morph2_small.jpg|}} returning to a source to view Roger Caillois as interrogating a material mysticism and attempting to overcome the constraints of the here and now, and revelation of a metaphysical order where imagination helps define the character and matter of itself

where phenomena are re-ordered and freighted with significance as though rendered legible, "written", and as obeying an (unifying) energy in the cosmos, across time and space (a la Swedenborg's correspondences) that everyone can interpret - the encrypted message hidden in those phenomena are revealed as though the imagination reads from the worlds book of symbols. micro-macro, chance as revelation, spontaneous image readings

pattern construction/recognition as a way of filling the vacuum, to write meaning where signs attract, to apply it across every form, imagination makes sense of forms without inherent meaning by playing back and forth between those people/machines involved - those that scry the forms < > those that interpret the significance of the scrying of those forms and projects that interpretation back onto the scryer.

like Maxwells revealing of invisible lines of forces the writers imagination allows phenomena not directly perceived to come into being in a linguistic algebra (Valery) that would make intelligible the hidden geometry of reality, to make that 'logic of the imagination which attunes rocks and humans, between the irreversible cut into the Universe at a certain point in time (Meillassoux's arche-fossil) and the vertiginous, schizophrenic human subject.

//reminder//

historic shift was from the material object to a signal as accomplished by electronic technologies represented a fundamental conceptual step towards computational media and away from the permanent imprinting into some material, as a signal could be modified all at once in real time through filtering in contrast to the bit by bit manual modification of a material. electronic signals don't have a singular identity (a particular state qualitatively different from all other states) and are essentially mutable

> material turn where objects are made mutable

> total signal of the vertiginous and schizophrenic
